Lightboard production
Burkle offers four types of lines for lightboard (honeycomb) production.

The basic line for fully framed elements uses a roller press and has a feed speed of up to 25 m/min. Its standard working width is 1300/1600 mm and prefabricated frames are assembled manually or semi-automatically. PUR adhesive is used.

The automated line for fully framed elements features an ODW single-opening throughfeed press (2600 x 6000 mm), a capacity up to approx. 1000 m2 per shift and both 3-layer and 5-layer production. Prefabricated frames are laid up manually and inexpensive UF, PVAC or EPI glues are used.

Board-on-stiles production with prefabricated stiles features an OPTIMA multi-opening press ( 2 x 5 openings, with press plate dimensions of 2800 mm x 1400 mm). Its maximum output is 4 boards/min. or about 6000 m2 in 8 hours for maximum sizes. Multiple widths and lengths are possible and inexpensive glues (UF or EPI) are used.

The high performance line for board-on-stiles production with cut-to-size stiles features an OPTIMA multi-opening press (2 x 5 openings, with press plate dimensions of 6400 x 1400 mm). The stiles are automatically cut to size in width and length and automatically assembled. Its maximum output is 4 boards/min. or about 13,800 m2 in 8 hours for maximum sizes. It uses inexpensive glues (UF or EPI).
