Flakeboard to install third new melamine press

Flakeboard announced plans to install its third new melamine press in as many years, this one at its Duraflake particleboard plant in Albany, Oregon. This press installation, scheduled for first quarter 2010 start-up, is the final stage of a melamine expansion plan that began with the purchase of three new presses in 2007.

Kevin Shotbolt, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, said this will offer melamine surfacing to the company's highly recognized Duraflake® brand and provide a wide range of TFM specialty products.

Plant Manager, Dave Leding said that the project represents a significant investment in the community and the stressed Willamette Valley forest products industry and is a major investment in Duraflake’s future.

This final installation will serve the western regions of Canada and the United States and supply those areas with melamine surfaced Duraflake® and Premier® products from both the Albany particleboard, and Eugene MDF plants, respectively.
