Dieffenbacher will supply first OSB plant in Asia

Dieffenbacher GmbH announced a contract with Hubei Bouyuan Group of China to supply the main equipment package for a new OSB production plant to be located near Jingmen, Hubei Province, P.R. China.

Mr Cai Weijin, CEO and President  of Hubei Buoyuan Group, and Mr Wolf-Gerd Dieffenbacher,  President of the Dieffenbacher Group, celebrated the signing of the contract at Ligna 2009 in Hannover, Germany on May 9.
This will be the first OSB line in mainland China and the first of its kind in Asia. Nominal production capacity of the 8 ft. wide and 30 m long continuous press CPS line is 220,000m3 /year.

The heart of the plant is a 3-head OSB forming system designed to ensure highest forming accuracy and minimum board tolerances. Dieffenbacher will also supply log infeed, stranding, wet strand storage, an SPE drum dyer, dry strand storage and screening and gluing systems. The press outfeed and board finishing sytems and plant automation and control systems will also be supplied by Dieffenbacher Group member companies.
 
Poplar and pine plantations in the surrounding area will supply the fiber for the plant. Production of OSB is scheduled for startup in 2010.
